Yes yes, I know it's still August and Halloween is over two months away, but I couldn't resist posting a favorite shoot from last Fall. Anyone who knows me will know that I'm in love with Halloween and dressing up and literally everything about it. I have a closet full of costumes at my house and I make a new one every year. So when the idea for a Day of the Dead shoot popped into my head, I knew I had to do it.
Luckily, I was able to use on of my favorite models - Sarah Larsen. I swear every shoot I do with her is pure magic. She provided her own amazing costume and flower crown, and the incredibly talented Jessie Ortega did her makeup.
The shoot took place at the Garden Park Ward in Salt Lake City - seriously, everyone needs to shoot there. It's magic. It's an LDS church building with beautifully landscaped grounds, complete with a pond, bridge, and various painted structures. Needless to say, it was perfect for this lovely sugar skull. We basically had the grounds to ourselves for like two hours, and we had so much fun! That is, until Sarah started shivering because it was the middle of October. I'm obsessed with the way these turned out, and there's a good chance I'll do more of this in the future!
